Simukai Child Protection Programme was founded in February 2000, with the goal to address the problems faced by the vulnerable members of the community mainly children. Registered as a child welfare organization under PVO 27/12.
A baseline survey identified more than 100 children and youths living and working on the streets of Mutare, highlighting the need for broader intervention.
Organization name changed from Simukai Street Youth Programme to Simukai Child Protection Programme to reflect expanded focus.
Satellite offices established in Chipinge (2007), Makoni (2008), and Nyanga (2014), expanding services across Manicaland province.
To ensure that children and youths achieve their full potential and become productive and responsible members of the society.
Fostering strong partnerships with community members, service providers and community leaders to collectively improve health outcomes.

"I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see, fear, and put their trust in the Lord."
The name "Simukai" was derived from this powerful scripture, reflecting our mission to lift children out of difficult circumstances and provide them with a firm foundation for their future. Just as the scripture speaks of being lifted from despair to hope, we strive to uplift vulnerable children and youth.
